    Hi all,

I’m workin on an animation with lots of rain coming down. This looks cool but I need some rain drops/droplets splashing on the lens of the camera where they slide down.

I remember from a while ago that there was a particle/simulation plugin for after effects that could actually stick some on the lens and mimic that. I thought it was DIN but I’m not sure anymore. In that particular gallery there was a clip with someone in a kano/boat and water splashed on the camera lens.

    Two Questions:
    – Does anyone remember this plugin? !!!>>> It is not the Alpha plugin WATER!<<< - Does anyone know how to solve this the easy way/hard way? I'm in production now and it would add some nice details to it. So I hope some of you guys/girls can help me. Many thanks in advance!!!!! Michael

Water doesn’t really run down a camera lens, unless it’s really pouring and compromising the actual shot(watch rainy news footage). It’s more natural when water droplets are stationary on the lens, blurred and displacing the footage. Don’t know how much rain is actually supposed to drench your shot, but how about really shooting water hitting/running down glass in real life? You could screen it onto your final comp, bulge it, add a lot of blur and some displacement…

    Hi!

I was wondering the same thing. I found some plugins like Fantazm or Panopticum Lens Pro 3.0, but this is not quite, what I’m looking for.
    Have You tackled this problem?
I’m asking, ‘coz I was so desperate, that I considered doing it manually in 3d App.

    Regards
