Installed OSX 10.4.1, FCP5 and new decklink drivers (in that order). When i open past projects (photojpeg timelines so far) FCP5 will crash in under 1 minute… everytime! The only solution is to turn off video preview through the decklink card and work strictly from the canvas window… not very realistic. I played around with a new 8bit project and new footage and it seemed ok for the 15 minutes i worked with it. I’m going to do some further testing to see what scenarios work and which don’t. But for now, existing photojpeg projects do not work with my decklink SP. I talked to tech support and he blamed it on Apple.

My setup is working OK so far.

I’m working on a dual 2.5 GHz G5, 4 gigs RAM, SATA RAID.

Installed a seperate boot drive in the G5 and did a clean install of Tiger and FCP Studio. All drivers and other associated software was also installed from scratch.

Opened up a previous hour-long episode of our show and mastered it to Betacam via a UVW-1800. No problems nor issues. Color corrections, effects and audio adjustments and filters remained intact. The timeline is full-resolution DV NTSC.
