War Time…type writer font effect, shaking camera
Good Afternoon all,
I’m hoping someone can aide me I’m producing a video about a war museum (Uni project) and I’m hoping to have the text to appear like an old typewriter font and appear in the same manner with each letter clicking into view…. if that makes sense.
Also adding to this a slight camera shake, out of focus at times…I have the old film grain effect that I plan to use also which is working ok, hope someone can help. I would really appreciate it.

Look in your Animation Presets (Text>Animate In>Typewriter) and you’ll find exactly what you need. Choose a good font and you’re done. There are a number of ways of getting the shake, from simple keyframes to plug-ins, search the COW.

I believe courier is the font you want. Also, you might want to use the roughen edges effect to make the letters look more like they were actually ink on paper. Not sure how far you are taking this, but if it’s actually supposed to be on a typewriter (rather than just the suggestion of one) you may want to animate the little arm thingy that actually hits the paper- use a lot of motion blur.

Thanks for your help so far, the text with roughened edges looks great, I’m having trouble trying to find the animate typewriter expression though?
I’m running AE 7, and i’m wondering where I will find it, if not I will see if its in 6.5 Pro. maybe do my text in there and bring it into 7???
