Sorry I’ve posted this in the Panasonic HvX forum but I thought it was more appropriate here.

The title says it all really, I’m wondering if I’ll be able to download P2 files onto an external drive via my PC laptop and then when I get back to the studio, offload those files from the hard drive into Final Cut?

I have had issues with swapping external drives between Mac and Pc before, so if the answer to the above question is yes; then would someone know of a good external that doesn’t mind being swapped between Mac and Pc?

Sorry that this post is very similar to another of mine, but it is different and therefore I reposted.

    Many thanks.

HECK yeah. Just put the files on a drive formatted as FAT32 (the P2 card itself uses a Fat32 type structure) and both the mac and pc will be able to see the drive fine.

This will probably sound really stupid but I don’t really know about these things.

Does the drive have to be formatted that way when I buy it, or is it something I can do?

I have a Seagate FreeAgent that I’d like to use, if I can’t do it myself how do I tell if this is formatted in the way you suggest?

    Many Thanks
