Hi Chris,

No they won’t but there are scene files on line for the SPX900 just off the webpage for the SDX900 under resources. If you own the SDX there is a book called the Goodman’s Guide and you can have one of those for free if your camera is a US camera and hasn’t been registered before. So if you do own the SDX, then look again on the SDX site and you will find a registration card that you can fill out and we will send you a book.

Otherwise you can buy that book, like if you only rent the camera, at some of the more hip dealers out there that stock the book. There is another book like it for the VariCam.

Hi Chris: My Sony DSR-450WSL’s linear matrix and multi-matrix Paint menus can beat up your Panasonic HVX200 & SDX-900’s Paint menus any day. 🙂

Actually, if Jan or others care to educate me, if the Panasonic cams do have advantages in this regard, I’d welcome hearing details about it. It’s always good to know which tools have what capabilities.

So, Chris, did you buy a camcorder yet, or is your research continuing?

I’ve heard good things about the “Goodman’s Guide” for the SDX-900 and wish there was something at least as good for Sony pro camcorders. If anyone knows of a Sony-oriented book, please advise.

FYI: Paul Wheeler’s “Digital Cinematography” has been recommended to me as a good general pro video cam reference. Which reminds me, gotta order that book …
