Walter.. how do you use the AttoR380
Posted by Simon Blackledge on July 25, 2007 at 5:59 pmHi, Just recived our card.
Got to config.. do you use DV or other? I chose other and set it to raid5 with 256k
it says the disks status is degraded and is rebuilding.
I take it this is why the aja test is pretty poor and spiky currently ?
Cheers

If you’re running RAID 5 it will take 3 – 8 hours to build depending on how much storage you have. our 8TB array took approx. 6 hours to build when we first did it. If you run speed tests while it’s building, you will get mixed results.
Honestly don’t recall anything other than that. We have not received our new units yet and won’t for another week or so, then we’ll be going through the configuration process again and I’ll be able to better tell you.

Have you called Atto? I talked to them before I even installed the card and had them walk me through the entire procedure. Saved me a lot of headaches and both of our installs during testing went smoothly.

July 25, 2007 at 7:58 pmThink the ATTO helpline is US.. I’m in UK. Going to speak to our raid supplier first. Only installed this evening so will run though again with him.
One intresting thing I found.. On the AJA test the worst one for spikes in the graphs is 720P60 8 bit.. it spikes way more than the smaller frame size tests or the large ones.
And another one is I set the raid quickly to raid0 and ran a full speed test..
It’s the opposite with this card.. the write graph is as flat as a pancake!.. but read is really spiked.. highpoint was opposite.. although never as flat as the ATTO.
I’ve set it to 128 and raid5 and left it chunterin away…
will keep you updated.
Cheers
