    Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this or if there are any tuts out there. What I wanted to do is make a human walk through a wall and make it look like each limb goes trough as he walks trough. I know that it is very easy to do this from a side angle but that not what I want. Maybe a back or 3/4 angle. I have done this in the 3D app, Poser 6,but since AE’s layers have no depth at all, this wouldn’t work because as soon as a layer goes through another layer, its gone immediately. Is there a way to maybe Mask out portions of body parts in AE to create this look? Should I shoot on a green screen?

    Thanks so much in advance,
    Joey

If it’s a fast running through the wall, you can use keyed footage, and then use the simple choker to have the actor appear to pass through the wall as his edges either dissolve or appear. This is only good for a fast walk through where you can trick the camera.
