  • Waht the right workflow to mix 1080P and interlace DV on cs5.5?

We are starting to shoot HD(about time). We have SD DV footage that needs to be integrated into a 1080P timeline. Right now there in some strange degradation going on in the 1080P timeline.

If we are starting from scratach, what’s the right workflow to get the best quality images from DV?

What kind of timeline should be created?

How should the interlace DV footage be included in the timeline?
Should it be comverted first, or should we just drop it onto the timeline?

    Any other suggestions?

Placing DV footage in a 1080P timeline, degradation is to be expected, especially if you are expanding the DV clips to fill the 1080 frame. Enlarging pixelates. How much you enlarge greatly affects the level of pixelation.

There are plugins from both Red Giant and Boris that will ‘up-rez’ an SD clip to HD, and do it fairly nicely, considering.
