  Wacome tablet pen issue using Illustrator

  I’m not sure how this happened. i bought a wacom intuos3 about a hundred years ago. i couldn’t get the hang of it. I decided recently to pull it out (it’s honestly been several years) and force myself to learn it.

  I am having a strange issue and I don’t know what to do.

  if I create a line using tghe pen, then erase any part of that line, it turns the rest into a non pressure sensitive, big fat line. it’s hard to explain so i’ll post two pics.

  first. just a simple line
  

  second, same line, all I did was turn the pen around and run the erasor down the middle. see what happened to my line?
  

  does anyone know what i’m doing to cause this? it makes it so i can’t erase anything
