  • VPID Mismatch Color Space error with Ultrastudio 4k and HDCAM SRW 5500

Trying to do a tape output to HDCAM SR from an Ultrastudio 4K. Tape format needs to be RGB 4:4:4. Using dual link and 444 SDI settings in Resolve appears to work fine. The picture looks correct. If I unplug the SDI B output from the US4k to the deck, the color shifts, so pretty sure the dual link is working as expected.

However, the SRW 5500 is displaying a warning message that states…

Warning – 2A VPID Mismatch Color Space.

I researched enough to find that this is a warning that the VIPD color space data in the incoming video input does not match the decks color space format. I can not find any settings that corrects this error message. I have tried outputting from BM Media Express and Davinci Resolve 15.3, from two different computers, using two different Blackmagic devices. Ultrastudio 4k and Decklink Extreme card.

Anyone know if this is a limitation of the Blackmagic devices/software or a setting on the SR deck? Can’t find specific documentation on either. The image looks correct and everything else works fine. Can I go ahead with the tape layoff or will this pass along bad data on the tape for future playbacks?

    Thanks.
