volume light in 3d space

is it possible to build volume light in an ae 3d room while the camera is moving behind rows of pillars so sometimes it will shines through.
also the camera will move around a curve!
any advice would be nice!

you might want to check my tutorial on volumetric lights:

also you can emulate the Lux plugin by simply creating a
layer with a circle effect, and then applying CC Fast Radial Blur with a bit of offset from the center of the circle.hope that helps a bit.

September 23, 2007 at 2:36 amIf you aint got the Bucks for Lux, here’s a freebie, but I don’t think I will really do what you want, cutting the beam od light off with Pillars, I too think Maltaannon’s is the best shot, and also Lux doesn’t work on 3D layers as far as I know.

after a lot of trying i will do something with lux.
yikesmikes you are right that lux behalfs not as a real 3d layer and shine threw the pillars but i will make a precomp of the pillars and take it to mask out the lux layer.
i also tried the peter torpey tutorial but since my oriental windows are a lot bigger than the startbeam of the volume light i layed it behind the window in 3d space and it does not worked like i need it, because the lightbeam did not show through the window into the room (maybe my mistake, but i
