voice over track covers another track?
I added an audio track and put my mono voice over file in it. When I move the audio wave in the track, another copy of the file shows underneath. Why is that? How do I get rid of this and why is it there in the first place? I noticed it only happens when I cut the audio and move it a bit. Then the underlying file is uncovered. Not when I move an uncut file. I cut by using “s” on the file.

You must have added it twice by accident. Maybe you recorded twice from the same location?

Select it and press the Delete key.

well, I’ve tried to repeat the problem, but after a restart I can’t anymore. So I guess deleting the double files in the track and move on is the only thing left. I still can’t believe it was me copying files though. I had 10 audio files of which I cut 5 with “split events at cursor” and when I moved those files they had duplicates underneath and definitely the uncut files didn’t. I guess the restart of the PC has moved the bits and bites in place again.

All you need to do is accidentally hold down the Ctrl key while moving an event and you have unknowingly made a copy without wanting to; so it’s easy to do.
