Voice Over Recording – Speed Issues

March 21, 2020 at 11:00 pmI’m using a Yeti Microphone in Premiere CS6, Windows 10, 8700K Desktop PC with a Geforce 1080 graphics card and 64GB RAM. The render mode is yellow CUDA (instant). When I record my vocal track (singing to a backing track), the playback is either super fast like a chipmunk, or lagging one second late. How can I fix this please? I just thought of something…the USB port might be old…nope. I tried several USB ports, both 2.0 and 3.0. Its irrelevant. I cleared Premiere Cache too. I tried the software only render option in project settings but the problem persists.

March 25, 2020 at 7:51 pmHi – don’t know if this will be of help as my projects are more recording narration and voice overs, not vocal tracks – but I’ve used a Yeti for about a year….I prefer to record in Audition and do my processing there – never had an issue with playback speed.
Are you recording at 48000 HZ?

March 26, 2020 at 6:43 pmI don’t know where recording quality level is set in Premeiere CS6. My videos are backing tracks with scrolling lyrics – I want to record myself singing along so I can mime later when I film myself for high quality band demo reels.
