VO and Adobe Audition
Greetings. I am a videographer who constructed a soundbooth for VO work, but now have ‘strayed’ into recording a neighbors book for audiobook ‘publication’. I am using a Shure KSM-44 mic, in a room designed by Aurelux, a Alesis Multimix12 Firewire mixer, going into my old Adobe Audition 1.5. I’ve read the book on Audition, survived their training dvd, but still feel I am flying in the dark a bit. For such pure voice work, do you pros out there ‘fly’ by the numbers, or do the good ol’ ears guide you to get the correct tone, volume, and pacing shifts that can happen over a multi-day recording session? The dear author is a young 77 years old, and while reading may not be her strong suit, I want to produce the best work I can for her. Thanks for any insight.
Pat
