    Hi Guys,

I have a client who wants to get an effect they have seen on a YouTube clip… It is kind of a washed out grainy look that they like…. The colors are more vibrant but skin tone is washed out…

I have been going through my FCP effects to try to get a similar effect but haven’t been able to get close yet…

Can anyone help me out with any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

All I can think of is to use SmoothKit Diffuse a bit and some color correction (probably a few selective passes)

Just to add to what Pierre said about Smoothkit diffuse, and some selective color correction. You can start with the color correction and de-saturate overall, then pull a luminance matte of selective areas (that you want more vibrant) and pump up the saturation for these areas, then you can add the Smoothkit diffuse plug-in and do an overall slight diffuse and then add some grain on top of everything. That receipe should give you a similar look.
