Vision switcher to generate an EDL
Posted by Matthew Romanis on June 16, 2008 at 5:59 amHi everyone,
A bit off topic, but does anyone know of a vision switcher that can generate an EDL of the switch?
Portability is a need too.
Thanks.

June 17, 2008 at 1:43 amThe idea, Noah, would be to have between 7 and eight HPX 2000/3000 cameras being directed from a central point covering some action on stage. The vision switcher would be operated by the director and the EDL used to lay up the shots as per his direction. Some fine tuning can be done, or story lines changed to suit what needs to happen in post. I don’t want to have to work backwards from a “program tape”. The job is non linear in nature, I just want a useful outcome from the directing on the day that allows for flexibility.
Has any one heard of a vision switcher that can generate an EDL from the cut? -

June 18, 2008 at 11:26 pmI have an international patent on the creation of EDL from the Tally output of all the vision mixers…
We had a system build four years ago, that was able to send footage and timelines in real time along with the live event… we call it iso.ingest…
