I use Media Manager for tagging my media files. However, there’s no carry over of those tags into the Vegas Pro timeline. I need a way to associate some kind of visible label or tag to the individual clips in my timeline. And, if I move the clip in the time line (slide left, right, etc.), the label or tag should stay with that clip. If I slice a clip, I want to label the resultant sliced clips. The labels or tags don’t have to be the same ones from Media Manager, though that would be nice. If it makes any difference, I’m using VP 9.0b. Plug-in solutions would be fine, if need be.

The responses to this forum post (but for FCP) are basically what I’d like, but that’s FCP. https://forums.creativecow.net/archivethread/8/751332#751332

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Don’t think this is quite what you are looking for (it’s not as versatile as adding custom tags), but Ctrl+Shift+I reveals the View > Active Take Name. I leave that on all of the time.

Ok, that’s a pretty good solution. Thanks. I was thinking of just setting my desired values in the Take Name, but found getting to it too onerous. Never considered a keyboard shortcut. Side note: I’m guessing I can put anything I want in the Take field, and it doesn’t impact editing in any logical way. I’ll read up on Take Name to confirm.
