Visibility of one layer controlled by another
Hey, everyone.
So, in the screenshots below, layer 19 is the headless suite in the foreground and layer 18 is everything else behind it. Somehow, the visibility of layer 18 is not controlled by clicking its eye or even adjusting its opacity. The only way to make it invisible is to click the eye on layer 19. Then, the background AND the suit disappear together. I can also adjust the opacity for layer 19, which causes the suit to fade out, but not the background. I’d like to be able to control the opacity of the background. Why can’t I? Anyone?

Firstly, you are soloing layers 18 and 19 in your last screenshot. That’s the solid dot to the right of the eyeball in the timeline panel. When one or more layers is soloed, only layers that are soloed will be seen. Other layers with the eyeball on but solo off will not be seen until all layers are un-soloed.
Secondly, what other layers that we can’t see in your timeline screenshot are active at this time? Layer 18 ends before the CTI. Any 3D layers?

I knowI was soloing the layers. I did it because I thought it might highlight the problem.
I’ve got lots of other active layers in this project. I don’t know how to show you all of them unless I take a lot more screen shots.
