    Hi all,

I’ll try and cut a long story short…

A client came in to look at some footage which was shot a little, ‘odd’ shall we say. And he asked to look at the luminance levels of the footage, and i was a little stuck. He then said ‘just pull up a histogram…’ ahem.

Usually when i want to adjust the luminance I use the levels effect, but this isn’t really what was needed here.

I then looked thru the scopes in FCP, but you can’t actually grab and adjust the levels (i don’t think…).

Is there something in AE (or a standalone tool), that can bring up said information on a particular shot?

FWIW; it was a greenscreen shoot on XDCAM HD, CS5, FCP 7 Mac OSX…

Thanks for what will be awesome advice as usual!!

    Andrew.

Try using Color Finese (included with AE).

you could try adding the color finesse effect, then click the ‘full interface’ button. it has several virtual scopes, one of which is a luminance histogram.
