  Viewer window is choppy

  I have files that were shot on a Canon Rebel T21. I successfully dragged and dropped them into the project bin. However, they don’t play correctly in the viewer window. Yet, if I drag them to the canvas window they play just fine. What should I do in order to view footage correctly in the viewer window?
