  • Viewer window – Can I zoom in to work with part of a clip?

    In the Viewer window, is there a way to scale that I can see just part of my clip? I don’t mean zooming in on the image or scaling the window, I mean having the window show only part of the clips, duration-wise. For instance, if I have a very long clip in the viewer, it’s hard to scrub around with any finesse. Sometimes I’d like to zoom in so that I can work with just part of the clip. There must be a way to do this, right? My workaround now is to throw a long clip in a timeline and work there, but doing it in the viewer would have it’s advantages. This was easy to do in Media 100, though I’ve forgotten exactly what it was called. Thanks!

    Use the J-K-L keys.

    L = play
    K = stop
    J = play reverse
    K and L together = play slow
    J and L together = play slow reverse
    K and tap L = advance one frame
    K and tap J = reverse one frame

    also:

    Shift Forward Arrow = advance one second
    Shift Backward Arrow = reverse one second

    I understand the desire to zoom into the scrubber bar on the viewer, however, once I got used to those keyboard commands I was much faster.

    Best,
