Viewer white in FCP- cant scrub, but video plays
I’m new to editing on the MacBOok and I keep accidentally toggling things. I just hit something that made the viewer go white and when I scrub the footage, there is an X in the upper right corner. When I hit play, it plays fine, and I can move it and see it in the timeline. But the white is driving me nuts cuz I resally need to scroll thru my footage!

Sounds like you’ve set the Canvas View popup to display the alpha channel, which there probably isn’t any, so you see white.
