    Hello
probably running the risk of being told to eff off (namely for not having done my homework properly?) I would like to ask nevertheless:
I have a video project originally edited with Premiere Pro CS3. In the meantime I’ve upgraded to CS4 and when I went back to it to do some final adjustments, one of the clips in the timeline (which is used in many parts of the video) seems to have stopped working properly: when I play it on the timeline or in the Effects window, it only shows a few seconds of footage, when in fact it’s 5 min something long! (hence in the timeline I am stuck with the same video frames all over the place). I tried to open it in windows media player and it works fine there – here are the properties:

    File Path: H:\Madcap\New AVIs\MVI_0711.AVI
    Type: AVI Movie
    File Size: 342.1 MB
    Image Size: 640 x 480
    Pixel Depth: 0
    Frame Rate: 30.00
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz – 16 bit – Stereo
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Stereo
    Total Duration: 00:05:29:19
Average Data Rate: 1.0 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

    Any ideas…?

    thanks even if not!

It appears your clip is not dv but some other consumer camera recording.

1st try to make a new project. Goto file import and select the troubled ppro project file. Select entire project. It will import into a folder named the same as your trouble project. Open the folder and double click the seq file of ur trouble project. See if the new conforming has fixed the issue…

If that doesn’t fix it I suggest u convert the entire file to uncompressed avi or dv avi. U can dobthe conversion in either media encoder or a third party app.

Does the clip work in a new cs4 ppro project? If so export it there. Then open the old project and unlink (make offline) the problem file and relink it to the dv or uncompressed avi.

    That should work.
