Video with Alpha Channel – non QT?
I do not use Mac. Strictly WinXP.
Forgive me is this is at all confusing:
I’ve been searching for a common (one that end Windows users can aquire via simple download) video codec (compressor/encoder and decoder) for After Effects CS3 that will allow me to create/render/output a movie that has an Alpha Channel in it.
I create content in the form of video files, mostly wmv or mpeg-2 and some swf, for use on Digital Signage installations. The system my company uses allows for multiple Regions (think of them as LAYERS) on the same plasma/lcd at the same time. This allows me to get creative and have one movie file playing on top of another one, etc.
Often times I’m asked to create stuff that requires me to use an alpha channel in a movie, which I’ve had to resort to Swf or uncompressed Avi in order to accomplish.
Is there any way, not on a MAC nor using Quicktime (unless a QT codec can be applied to a WMV or AVI or MPEG-2) to accomplish this alpha channel problem?
I’ve looked over the multiple threads here, but have not found anything other than the simple QT answers.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to any help.
