I’ve got a Mac Pro, running Lion, Quad Core, 20 GB of memory, with NVIDIA graphics card and ATI Radeon HD card. I have Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5 installed.

Here’s the problem: I open Premiere work for a while in my project and everything is fine. Then all of a sudden (usually about 10 minutes in ) the timeline will not playback anymore and the program monitor turns grey. No matter how long I wait it will not play the timeline. I can open any audio/video in my project and it will open in the source tab but will also not play. I have to restart Premiere and will normally get about another 10 minutes out of it again and then I get the grey screen again.

I’ve made sure that all updates have been installed both for the system and Premiere. There are no other programs running in the background. I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find anything similar to this.

Any help is greatly appreciated! It’s getting annoying to restart every 10 minutes, especially when this project is due in 2 days.

Additional things that I’m noticing. I’ve got this sequence set us at Sony XDCAM 1080p 29.97, once premiere messes up, it changes this sequence to AJA JD 1920x1080i Don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but just noticed it.
