Video Playback is Glitchy. Can’t figure it out.

I was sent a hard drive with DV NTSC video on it. After importing it into FCP it plays back with glitches in it.
I tried converting to Prorez422 in compressor but still get the glitchy playback in FCP.
I tried converting to DV NTSC in compressor and it works fine. I would much prefer to edit in Prores422.
This is the info from QT inspector of original DV clip.
DV, 720 x 480 (640 x 480), Millions
DV, Stereo, 32.000 kHz
29.97
57.54 mbits/s
640 x 480 pixelsAny ideas?

Hi Jordan,
there are many reasons why your DV video may plays glitchy but you don’t go to improve things by converting it to ProRess. Probably you will have even more problems.
You may want to edit your DV footage and export as ProRess, but convert to ProRess just like that makes no sense at all.
BTW, what kind of HD are you talking about?

More than likely it’s the 32khz audio that’s creating the issue.
Open a new seq. – change the settings to DV and change the audio to 32khz, now drop one of the clips in and see if it doesn’t play smoothly.
