    Hey fellow cows,

I had an employee do something on my nle and now when i park on the timeline it does not show up on my external monitor, it only shows what’s in the viewer.

    How do you change that?

    TIA

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

    Here’s what to do:

    1. Fire the employee

    2. Tell me more about your monitoring setup. Is this your computer monitor or I/O out to a broadcast monitor?

Sorry for being vague on the setup

It’s to my broadcast monitor, the a/ settings are ; seq. preset – dv ntsc 48khz, video playback aja kona 525i29.97 10 bit 720X486

Firing is too easy. Manual labor is better 🙂

    Okay Sam,

In theory all you have to do is go to View>>Video Playback> and choose AJA KONA 525i29.97 10 bit 720X486. And, make sure that All Frames is checked in View>>External Video.

If these don’t work, then the offending employee did more bad stuff and we need to go deeper, perhaps into the Kona Control Panel.

Report back one way or the other, and good luck.

    Sam,

The easiest way to fix the KONA output if the quick fix won’t work is:

    1) uninstall the drivers using the Kona uninstall utility that wan installed in the Kona Applications folder. And, then reinstall the latest drivers.

    2) Change the settings per our earlier discussion.

Or, you could call the folks at AJA, who are nice and friendly. However, the uninstall and reinstall above is very quick and easy and should do the job.
