Video Jumps/Stutters
For an unsophisticated user of Vegas Pro (12) that I am, this problem will be difficult for me to explain but here goes:
I am editing a holiday movie filmed a few years ago using footage shot at 25fps interlaced, 1920x1080x12 AVC and rendered in Sony AVC/MVC : AVCHD 1920×1080-50i.
Although the rendered files are relatively large, this format gives me the best quality video, or so it seems to me, on my large screen smart TV. I put my travel videos onto a WDTV Live device linked to my TV. I don’t upload anything to YouTube etc.
This current project however gives me trouble. I’ve produced 4 x 30 minute videos (a long cruise around the Med) and each video runs fine for about 20 minutes and without warning the picture starts to jump/stutter as if one out of three fames is missing. Consequently the audio gets out of sync and the videos essentially become annoying and basically unwatchable. Stopping and resuming the video has no effect.
All the clips in all the footage of this project show the same properties. No other videos on my WDTV Live hard drive display these characteristics and when any of the current 4 project videos are played on my PC there is no problem.
Before I start to blame my WDTV Live (or my TV) for the problem, I wonder if the above rings any alarm bells with any of you experts out there???
Cheers
