Video is out of sync with its audio and video quality is degraded when importing
I’m new at using adobe premiere CS3. I decided to use this for our short film because it is way much better than other video editing softwares.
Problem #1: The video is out of sync with its audio. I have tried this using AVI and MPG, still the same result.
Problem #2: The quality of the video decreases when i transfer it to the program view and whenever i export it. (but the quality of the video is OK in the source view)I really need some answers. This could really make or break our project. Thank You.

Are you capturing the footage as microsoft dv? [I assume your using dv footage]
Can it be the display settings in the program monitor are set to draft, instead of highest or auto quality?
What are you using to capture? CS3 or some other software?
What are your export settings?
Like Eddie said, give us some more info. I have seen sync issues before (5-15 frames) but it is usually just a rare hiccup.
I generally capture clips with a max duration of 15 minutes, so two hours of footage will automatically be split up into 8 clips. And in my experience, if clip003 had a sync slip for example, it seems to always correct itself at the start of clip004.

yes i’m using a miniDV
i was not able to capture using CS3 so i stuck to capturing from windows movie maker… the file type of the captured video is AVI… im using USB to capture…
my export settings: I select AVI too…
i am capturing less than 3 minutes of video…
what do you think is the reason i can’t capture from CS3?

PPro does not natively support capture from USB devices. Use an IEEE 1394 (i.Link/firewire) device to capture from MiniDV in PPro.

Yeah, you can get a cheap firewire cable from best buy or radio shack, if it didn’t already come with your camcorder. Just make sure you find the firewire input on your computer first. Note the size and shape so you can get the right one to connect camera to computer.
