Video glitching in Trimmer & Storyboard
I have been using Vegas Pro 12 for about 2 months now and have not had this problem until a few nights ago.
I use this to capture video from my xbox 360: https://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr2-gaming.html
I have had no issues recording, putting the mp4 file into Vegas, previewing, trimming, rendering and posting on youtube. Now, when I put the file in Vegas the audio is there, but the video is glitching. It looks like other parts of vegas just went in the preview window or trimmer as a jumbled mess. I had youtube open in chrome and it was part of youtube’s page jumbled up.
When I view the raw file in WMP its fine. Nothing wrong with it. I googled this last night and found someone saying to update quicktime. I did that, restarted my pc, reopened vegas and its the same thing.
Any help would be appreciated!

You should be recording to .TS files not .MP4 with the HD PVR. Don’t get confused with terminology used by the HD PVR software. The XBOX360 settings is not for recording from the XBOX… it’s for playing back on the XBOX! This is why they don’t edit well in Vegas. Try using the AVCHD .TS setting and the files should edit easily in Vegas.
Note: you may need to use older driver software although with the new gaming edition perhaps that’s not possible. I have an older HD PVR and the files edit beautifully but some people who have purchased the new one (with new drivers) and have problems.

I appreciate the reply. I’ll give this a try tonight. The videos that I was able to use, render and upload every 10-60 seconds there is a “hick-up” that lasts maybe 2-3 frames. This might be it.

Ok, I got it. I had to disable hardware acceleration in Vegas. After I did that, TS, AVI and MP4 files played like a charm. I have no idea why it didn’t work last night, but worked for the past month.
I’m also having another issue. Watch this video, start at like 1:12, and right when it hits 1:16, there is a little hickup. Its not on the raw mp4 file though. Any ideas how to get rid of that?
