    Hello,

I am experiencing some weird issues on my timeline. I have b roll on the v3 track covering the video laid on the v1 track which is there because it is video attached to the audio I am using. For some strange reason the video on the V1 track is dissolving into the video on the V3 track. Why is this happening and how to I fix it? Also I am getting these green signs with a check mark on my viewer window and some clips have a yellow triangle with a black exclamation point in it. Do I have the timeline in some sort of mode? Lastly I am getting the green and white lines that show that some of the video is overexposed. Can’t do nothing about that but I would like to turn that mode off also.

    Thanks for your help!

    Rachel

Rachel, the following areas of the manual will help explain how to fix all your problems.

Firstly read the section on how to turn viewer and canvas display options on and off. Understand what they are for and how they can be switched on and off when required.

Secondly read up about linking. You can unlink the video from audio and delete unwanted video. If I simply told you how to do these absolutely basic things, you will miss out on the excellent explanations in the manual which tell you why these modes are useful and what they all mean.

Finally there is a FCP Basics forum.
