i created a video in AE in .avi format and it plays beautifully in windows media player. however, when i import it into audition the same video flips back to previous parts in the middle.
i once had the same thing happen when i brought a different video file into premiere pro to edit it there. File played beautifuly in Winodws Media Player but would jump back frames in PP. Weird thing was, then i brought the file into PP using the Dynamic Link, it worked fine.
Why does this happen? Is it something to do with the compression? (I save video files from AE using microsoft mpeg4 video codec V2).
    Thanks
    dan

mpeg4 uses compression that doesn’t list every frame. I would keep everything uncompressed until it was going out someplace to reduce editing errors and syncing problems.
