Video Flickering, any way to minimize and save footage?
My director recently shot an interview in Egypt in less than favorable lighting conditions. She used a Panasonic DVX100, mini-DV at 29.98 fps. When I captured the footage, there was a flicker like effect. I went frame by frame and there appeared to be small black horizontal bars scrolling upwards quickly creating the effect. Would anyone know what is causing this? She does not believe the lights were flouresant and all my attempts to save the footage have failed. Tried de-interlacing, both fields, flicker filter, applying a number of effects to minimize it, but nothing is working. Changing the gamma filter to .58, then layering on a flicker filter helped slightly, but not enough. I’m at the end of my rope and no one seems to have come across this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
