video event won’t snap precisely to adjecent
Posted by Gilles Gagnon on January 6, 2012 at 5:17 pmSometime, when I attempt to extend a video event (event 1), it refuses to snap precisely to the adjecent event (event 2). My workaround is to extend the event 2, instead.
what causes this?

January 6, 2012 at 5:38 pm“Quantize to Frames” was disabled, you shifted things around and then enabled it again so that event 2 no longer starts on a frame boundary?
The easiest way that I know of to check this is to put the events close to each other, zoom in on the timeline and than step through with your cursor a frame at a time to see if it lines up with the end of event 1 and the start of event 2.
If it doesn’t, disable QTF, line things up and enable it again. -

January 6, 2012 at 5:49 pmThanks Mike,
QTF makes sense. Although I haven’t dis/enabled it. I checked it it is enabled.
I can’t remember where in my project this was occurring so I can’t test it right now.
I’ll try dis/enable trick next time it occurs and report back here if I remember 🙂
Thanks for the tip… I have a feeling this we’ll do it.

Your solution worked! (Alt-F8=shortcut)
I can now happily snap stubborn events…
Thanks again,
