    Look in the recycle bin.

If your going through all this trouble you were likely editing the only copy you had of the media? If so change your workflow and have at LEAST one backup copy on a different HD/Media. I have a lot of camera capacity hence I have the original on the camera, a master on a seperate drive and the media I’m editing on a different production drive.

    Good luck

[Bill Mash] ” I have the original on the camera, a master on a seperate drive and the media I’m editing on a different production drive.”

Those are words to live by. I don’t edit anything that I don’t have a backup copy of. Right from my camera it goes to two hard drives (work and archive) just in case one fails.

When you tell Vegas to delete the file it really deletes the file. It doesn’t move it to the recycle bin (as you have seen) so use this with caution.
