  Hey,

  I’m new to this forum, but after reading a number of posts here I feel like you’re a solid group to put my questions to.

  I’m currently working for a very small production company that has had a loose footage catalog. We are interested in building up a labeling and cataloging system with naming conventions that are logical and consistent regardless of the type of project. We have about 5 years worth of footage from a number of projects and right now there isn’t really any overall logic to the way that they’re named. Are there any resources out there for this or some sort of place to start?
  Also, is there a good tool for creating a searchable database of the footage with the ability to see sample clips and such?
