System: MacPro 2x 2.4 GHz QuadCore INtel Xeon, 20 Gb RAM, Mac OS 10.6.8
Videocards: ATI Radeon HD 5770 + Matrox MXO2 LE for video and audio monitoring.
    Matrox Software version: 2.2.3.0043
    Matrox Firmware: 31.1
    FCP 7.0.3

The Canvas screen and sometimes the Viewer screen have been, every now and then, freaking out and causing crashing as well: the Canvas or Viewer window goes green, or blue with streaks of footage, or vertical tiling of the image (sort of duplicating of image, with tones of blue or green)… Could it be the videocards are freaking out?

Parallel to this, but who knows if related to or not, I have been running into what is apparently an issue of drying up the RAM, from opening way too many thumbnails in bins, causing slowdown and eventual crashing and the crash report window.

    Any ideas much appreciated!
