Video Card Choice/Preferences with new FCP system
Do you use/prefer a Decklink Extreme card or an Aja (ie Kona 3) for use with
a new FCP system. Have read numerous articles/reviews that praise both cards.
One local shop in my town has the Decklink and he loves it.
I have been leaning toward the Aja product.
If work (television station) purchases this system, would be editing
all 3 to 1 or Uncompressed SD video from DVCPRO50, but within 18 months,
HD video at 100mbps from Panasonic P2 cameras.

I’m not the expert on these cards by any means, but I think the main difference between the two is that the Kona 3 will downconvert HD footage to SD when needed. The Decklink doesn’t do that.
If this is a concern for you, well…I’d investigate it if I were you because even I don’t trust my information on this one.
