Video Card and Rendering
I have two G5 Dual 2.7 running Tiger. In them I have an ATI 9800 AGP card and an ATI 9650 AGP card. On the Barefeats site they tested these cards against the ATI x800 XT card and the X800 totally smokes the two ATI’s that Apple put in the G5’s originally. Most of the tests were run on things like video game frames per second etc, but clearly the X800 is a way better card and really was the best of the bunch. So, for $300 and change, would you guys swap out your 9650’s for an X800 XT? I don’t do a lot of Motion right now, where it might benefit most, but a ton of AE and possibly Cinema 4D in the near future. Also FCP and DVDSP.
What are your thoughts?

I would swap them. AE doesn’t use the most out of a OpenGL card, but for C4D (especially when using the Mograph module with tons of intances) you’ll want the fastest card to display your 3D viewport. I personally always try to keep the fastests cards in my machines because in the grand scheme of things, $300 is way cheaper than your your time and efficiency lag with out it.
