    Is it possible to capture video from a game I am playing using VEGAS HD Plat. or any ver of Vegas, like you can do with FRAPS ?

    No. Vegas is designed to capture video from a video camera. It is not a screen capture utility. You should be using FRAPS or a similar screen capture program for capturing game footage.

    What do you want to do, edit parts of the game in Vegas?
    Well as John said, you have to capture it first with something
    else.

    I don’t believe a screen capture program would give you good results with high framerate video games, even Camtasia. People are having success with the Blackmagic Intensity devices as well as the Hauppauge. Still nothing yet to capture 1080 60p from XBOX, 360 games yet that I know of.

    Yea, I’m not sure why Bill doesn’t want to use FRAPS. It’s sort of the “gold standard” for capturing game play on a PC. But you bring up a good point… what if the game isn’t running on a PC? Then something like the Hauppauge HD-PVR is probably a good choice.
