Video Button Loop PROBLEM Encore CS3
Ok, I have Encore CS3.
I used the the tutorials on lynda.com AND Adobe Classroom in a Book (CIB) Encore 2.0 to learn..BUT:I have a menu with a video background. Added 3 Buttons, each contains a differnt piece of a video loop of 5 seconds. As per Adobe CIB exercise, I place a second instance of the same video clip right next to the first video clip, I chop it into 3 little 5 second pieces (so we see each actor inside their own buttons). I put the poster frame at the begining of each little clip, then drag-drop the chapter markers onto their respective buttons, and, as per the CIB, I drag the pick-whip for the End Point to the “bottom button”. The video buttons are SUPPOSED TO loop for 5 seconds and repeat, over and over while the menu keeps going for 20 seconds. INSTEAD, the button simply play out fully as if they were not edited! NO LOOP!
I emailed the author. No help “it was so long ago I don’t remember the detail”. Yea, sure.
I emailed lynda.com authors. No help. They do NOT cover this feature in detail and “it’s beyond the scope of thier authors”.Please look at Adobe Classroom in a Book Encore 2.0, pages 118-119. In particular Step 6, 7, and 8. When I follow these particular instructions, the video clips play BEYOND what I want them to (5 seconds and loop). Note on page 117 “What you might have noticed when you previewed the Motion Menu is that the button video durations take them beyond the subjects they refer to.” And there is a work-around for it on the next paragraph, which is explained in detail on 118-119. It….does…NOT…work.
PLEASE check out the book, follow the exercise, watch what happens: the three little clips, with poster frames, play completely instead of looping to the beginning of their respective markers.
HELP!How come ONE ONE in the world of Adobe covered this? Or did I miss something? I have 3 PDF files that contain scress shots if you want to see them. Email me: to*****@*****il.com
