Hello, I recently upgraded to a 26″ LCD monitor and am using a 1920×1200 at 32 bits dispay setting.

I have used PI for a variety of projects and now when I load video footage I have worked with in PI before it loads as black. I can see the video in the preview window in the open dialog box. I can load still pictures without a problem and can run all the emitters.

Any ideas on why video clips are loading as black? Thanks!

Try checking the “don’t use texture RAM for bg images” option in the OpenGL page of the Preferences.

If that doesn’t help, is the video an uncompressed AVI? For some reason uncompressed does not work for some people in pIllusion, and you may need to convert to another lossless format (like Huffy UV).

    Alan.

Using the Huffy codec seems to do the trick. Thanks for the advice!
