VidCap laggy/slow?
I don’t have any real problems using Sony Video Capture 6.0 with Vegas Build 115 (the latest still, I think), but I’m starting to get annoyed by the random lags I get. For an example, I can be typing and suddenly have the screen freeze for a second or two before I can continue. While managing timecode for numerous tapes this can get frustrating.
This happens no matter what I’m doing in the application. I have tried turning off video and audio preview, but it didn’t make a difference. I’m not running anything else besides Wordpad and Winamp, so I’m not sure what could be causing the lag.
I’m running Windows XP Pro with SP2 (fully up to date) and a dedicated drive for my video (plenty of space free). Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

This has happened to me ever since I started using Vegas nearly 4 years ago. Not sure exactly what it’s doing when it pauses but it happens on every machine I’ve used.

I notice that the application is actually separate from Vegas. Are there alternative applications, possibly, that I could use instead? If there’s no way to get around this this could get pretty annoying after long enough.
