is it possible to do a 3 point edit onto a video track other than the first?
ie, i want to set in and out points on the timeline, an in point on the source clip, press B and for it to overlay onto the 2nd or 3rd video track (im sort of doing some very simple compositing)when i do this, it just creates a blank ‘slug’ of the appropriate duration.

Are you patching your video track to V3 or V4? Disable the first track also in your timeline.
