Does anyone know if there will be problems integrating HDV into VFX? Specifically I’m wondering if the GOP issue (inter-frame compression) would wreak havoc with things like motion tracking and roto (ie, anything which spans multiple frames)?

If it must be HDV then convert it to a lossless codec before any work is done. If you don’t Everytime you process the footage (dissolve, Key, Roto) the quality will decrease. The biggest problem will be the Keys due to the 4:2:0 color.
