very simple 24p
I searched the related post and found nothing precisely as I want to ask it here. Very simply: How do I want to set up my timeline and settings etc to import and edit 24p footage, sd? What do I differently than if I were simply going to edit non 24p footage. Also, what is this pull down removal? Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to setup your sequence is open a new sequence and drag a clip in. If the sequence is not setup properly for the clip, FCP will ask if you want the sequence set to match the clip’s parameters. Answer yes and you’re good to go.
As for pulldown, it depends on how your footage was shot. Typically, 24P means the footage is shot at 29.97 (or 59.94) with pulldown added. The pulldown adds extra frames to the 24 so all the frames fit in the 29.97 (59.94) timebase. When you capture or transfer the clips, FCP removes these extra frames leaving 24fps.
