I have at present AE version 5.5… I am also about to update my computer….. would prefer a laptop (mac person here), would i be ok going that route? Any books suggested? Any beginning tutorials? I have just discovered the podcasts on iTunes, even though i no nothing… would watching them still be beneficial? are there beginning podcasts???…. ugh. Thanks for your patience and understanding….I use photoshop quite a bit so i am familiar with that program…. and interested in combining the two….. sorry i am rambling…… thanks again. jme

[Dave LaRonde] “And if you’ve never REALLY done any AE work, you will be stunned by the size of files you’ll be asked to render out. It’s one of those things you get used to.”

Really, It still shocks me on a regular basis.

[Dave LaRonde] “And if you haven’t made the transition to HD yet, be sure to tighten the chin strap on your helmet.”

HD was a shocker, but I just started rendering a 24 second sequence out as 2K 32bpc TIFF files… Estimated render time: 16.5hrs… Estimated sequence size: 30.0GB.

    =O

    It’s times like these I’m glad I have a 1.5TB RAID =)

Most peope new to AE are sorely lacking on Photoshop skills (which are very intertwined)

Suggest you add the book Photoshop for Video and Podcast of the same name… as well as watch The Cow’s very good tutorials on AE from Aharon
