The short film I am editing was shot day for night. However some of the shots are so dark, the actors faces can barely be seen. Also its incredibly blue. I am using FCP 5 so I tried the following filters: Color Correction, Color Sync, Levels, Brightness Contrast and HSL Balance. There has been some improvement, but I would like more. Any suggestions?

I’d take the project into Color. You’ll be able to have much, much more control in there. Or you could try a plug-in like Colorista.

Well I would but I’m using Final Cut Pro 5. Any tips for that version?

Then using the 3-way color corrector might be your best shot and improving the image. It can do a lot to take change the blue if you get a feel for how to work it.
