    Hi Folks,

I’m using the ProType titler to re-version some technical movies into different languages.

Generally this is much better and easier than the old text generating system in Vegas, once you have got your head around it. My problem is that when inserting Western characters [both text and numbers] within the body of Chinese/Korean/Japanese characters, the base line of these characters sit slightly high. This is really annoying and just the sort of thing to get your customer on the phone.

I cannot figure out how to cure this. Has anyone else come across this and found a working solution?

    Thanks,

    John Matchett

In the Pro Type Titler, there is no option to shift the baseline of individual characters. Ofcourse you could repair this by making all the Western characters in separate textblocks, but that will give you an enormous amount of extra work. A better solution would be to use Graffitti, a plugin for Vegas 8. This plugin allows you to shift the baseline from individual characters.
Apart from that, it does everything the Protype titler does and much more. The only thing is that I’m not sure whether it will work with Vegas 9. But there will be people here who can tell you this in case you are working with Vegas 9 Pro.
