  • Versioning similar grades in Resolve?

Posted by Jason Myres on October 31, 2011 at 8:47 am

I had an opportunity this weekend to grade a 30-sec spot for a friend with Resolve. He asked for a few different looks and was interested in any variations I could come up with.

I ended up creating five different looks, but to do that I had to create a new timeline in Conform for each grade, unlink the clips, and start again. Is there a good way to version several grades that are largely similar except for the last few corrections?

Sure, you just need to go to track mode and do the last overall correction there.
That of course means 100% the same base grades.
Because you cant “batch new version” your new timeline approach is the right thing to do.
Alternatively you could do that on a new video layer.
